Deputy Santa begins 12th year

DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office is once again sponsoring the Deputy Santa program for the needy children of this county.
Sheriff Jode Zavesky reports for the past 12 years Deputy Santa has been successful in receiving new toy donations to be delivered to children this Christmas.
“We are finding that Deputy Santa has helped many of our needy children have a wonderful Christmas,” Sheriff Zavesky stated. “Our efforts have taken us from one end of the county to the other and throughout all of our communities.”
He added, “We would like to thank all of our contributors and we hope their donations along with any new donations this year will help satisfy the needs of the children in our community.”
Parents of needy children, ages 12 and under, may begin signing-up Monday, Nov. 23. The deadline to register is 5 p.m. Dec. 7. The wish lists will be located at: DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office, 208 E. Live Oak, Cuero, Texas 77954 or 104 N. Gonzales, Cuero, Texas 77954; Yorktown Police Department, 102 E. Main, Yorktown, Texas 78164.
Any monetary donations may be mailed to Deputy Santa or brought to the Sheriff’s Office at any time. Make checks payable to “Deputy Santa.” There will also be toy drop off donation boxes at the following locations: the Cuero Dollar General, and the Yorktown Dollar General.

Gifts will be delivered to the children Dec. 21-24.
