Yorktown Head Softball Coach Ruben Serrano said with satisfaction Monday morning on the Kitty Kats' win over Dilley Friday night in the Regional Quarterfinal competition. “We play East Bernard this week in the Regional Semi-finals. Then it's the Regional finals and onto State. So we're close,” Serrano concluded confidently.

The Kitty Kats downed Dilley 5-0 and 8-4 in a best-of-three series last Friday and Saturday. Friday night's game was played at Incarnate Word while Saturday's game was played at San Antonio Burbank High School.

This week, the Kitty Kats will travel to Shiner where they will meet East Bernard on the field in a Regional semi-final contest. Game one will be played Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at the Shiner field. Game two will be played Friday, May 16, at 6 p.m., also in Shiner. Game three, if needed, will be played 30 minutes after game two Friday evening.

The Yorktown community is invited to “come on out to the ball game” and cheer on the Kitty Kats in their bid in the Regional semi-finals!
