Annual Nordheim May Feast this weekend

Join us for the annual May Feast at the Nordheim Shooting Club Hall on Saturday and Sunday, May 17, and 18, 2008. This year's event will feature a Washer Toss Tournament, cookoff events, a barbeque supper, and of course -- music by none other than the Nordheim High School Pirate Band and the Nordheim Faculty and Friends Band.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Saturday for the Washer Toss Tournament. There will be an entry fee of $20 per team. Cash prizes will be awarded. For more information, contact Patricia Garcia at 361-938-5572 or Ronda Voelkel at 361-938-5524.
Also on Saturday's agenda is a Chicken, Chili, Barbeque Brisket, Pork Ribs, and Bean Cook-off event. The entry fee for a single item is $20 while the entry fee for all five items is $80. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. Judging will be held at 2 p.m. with a cookoff auction to benefit the Nordheim Shooting Club Hall at 4 p.m. For more information about the cookoff events, call Clint Metting at 361-938-5242.
Hamburgers, chips, cold drinks, homemade ice cream, along with other booth sponsored activities, will be available throughout the day Saturday. There will be a dance at night with music by the Taylor Brothers from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. Admission is $10 per person.
Sunday's events will include free musical entertainment by the Nordheim High School Band at 3 p.m. followed by the Nordheim Faculty and Friends Band at 4 p.m. A Barbeque Supper of pork and all the trimmings will be served from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Plates will cost $7 each.
