CCH plans for new scanning equip.

Cuero Community Hospital Board spent most of last week's meeting hearing from Director of Radiology Brian Olsovsky, concerning a new MRI unit for CCH.

“We have an excellent opportunity, having new construction here at this hospital. I think it is a wise decision to include MRI with the construction project at this time,” said Olsovsky.
Olsovsky presented information on two “magnets” and recommended that the board approve the purchase of a Phillips Panorama 1.0 T Wide Open.
“The Phillips is what we're calling a true open,” said Olsovsky.
Patients lie down during the procedure and are not closed in as with other MRI units.
Phillips also offers the Phillips Ambient Experience, which will allow patients to have a more relaxed experience with sights and sounds.
The board approved the purchase of the Phillips magnet, which is already financed through the expansion project.
