July 4th Carnival at City Park

Members of Grace Episcopal Church are preparing for their annual 4th of July Family Fun Carnival to be held on Friday, July 4, at the Cuero Park Pavilion. Activities will begin with the ‘Young Patriots Parade' at 9:30 a.m. and the carnival will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Grace Episcopal Church July 4 Family Fun Carnival features old-fashioned family fun. Youngsters will gather at the Park Pavilion at 9:30 a.m. and parade behind VFW's Bobby Schley carrying the United States flag.

The carnival opens at 10 a.m. with the National Anthem, flag ceremony and invocation. Music will be provided by James Cheesman and his Live It Out Youth Worship Band. A new addition to the carnival this year is the Country Store showcasing jams, jellies, breads and other specialty items. This, along with the popular cake/toy walk, face painting, moonwalk, dunking booth, fish pond, merry-go-round, cookie decorating and rides on the Grace Church train. The watermelon seed spittin' contest, hula hoop contest and egg toss contest are also scheduled again.

There will be concessions, plant sale, bucket auction and raffle. The bucket auction has assorted gifts with a bucket next to each item.

Admission to the carnival and contest participation is free of charge. Tickets for booths are 50 cents each and bucket auction tickets are $1.00 each. Raffle tickets are 1 for $1.00 and 6 for $5.00.
