Water usage above normal

Because of the drought and heat wave Yorktown is experiencing, the City Council is asking that residents use minimum amount of water.

Citizens need to conserve as much water as possible can to prevent any water shortages.

The City reports usage is well above normal. Yorktown normally uses about 400,000 gallons and is now over 600,000 gallons.

Officials hope that with citizen's cooperation the usage will come down.

City Council is advising citizens that if it gets worse they will enforce a mandatory water restriction.
