John Ahlvin Wallace, age 83, of Cuero went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 8. His final days were spent surrounded by friends that had been touched by his life.
He was born on Jan 2, 1930 in Joliet, Ill. to the late William J. Wallace and the late Anna Marie Hoffmann. His father, mother, brother and sister preceded him in death. He came to Cuero in 1993 after he became a Christian in 1992 at the age of 62.
He lived at 1615 Terrell St. in Cuero for many years.
He was an ordained minister of the gospel of Jesus and a gifted Bible teacher at God’s Word Ministry for many years. He was also an evangelist to the motorcycle ministry. Some may remember him serving food during the flood in Cuero on the parking lot of H-E-B, working with the serving of Thanksgiving dinner for those who attended, or having the National Day of Prayer at the courthouse. He was always ready to do work for his Lord Jesus Christ.
John served four years in the Navy during the Korean War as a Seabee.
A memorial service will be held at Fresh Start Church located at 410 E. Broadway St, Cuero, Texas at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23. Pastors Terry Brown and John Mueller and friends will officiate.
Interment will be at San Antonio Veterans Cemetery.
