Thursday last day to enter Shutterbugs contest

The DeWitt County Shutterbugs invite all photographers to enter the 2013 Annual Photography Contest/Exhibition. The submission dates are between Friday, March 1 and Thursday, March 28.
Over $1,000 in prize money will be awarded in both the adult and youth divisions.
In the adult division there are seven categories: architecture, animals/fauna, flowers/plants, landscapes/scenic, miscellaneous, portraits/people, and special effects(digital or ﬁlm). First place in each category will receive $50, second place will receive $40, and third place will receive $30. A special wildﬂower category features a $75 award and Best in Show has a prize of $100. Adults have a $5 entry fee per photo with no limit of entries.
The youth division is open to students in eighth grade or lower and has one general category. First in youth wins $30, second wins $20 and third wins $10. Youth have a $3 entry fee.
On April 6 a panel of three qualiﬁed judges will select winning photographs based on technical merit and artistic impression. Only the highest scoring photos in each category will be exhibited. Approximately 250 photos are displayed from the hundreds submitted. The exhibition will take place at the Cuero Municipal Library. Photos will be on display from April 8 - May 2 during library hours, which are: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
