Sheppard defends state title

 

   Abby Sheppard went to Austin, Texas on May 11 to compete in the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles in the UIL state track and field meet. It was the last time that she would enter the stadium as a high school student. 
   Her first event was the 100 meter hurdles. With nearly a three minute delay in the start and not much of a warm-up prior to the event it did not slow Sheppard down. Sheppard placed second with a personal best time of 14.09 seconds falling behind the lead runner by only .04 of a second.
   “I think it went well. It went so fast, I dont remember. I tried my hardest,” Sheppard said.
