Yorktown city council considers lower truck weight limit

   Yorktown city council had their regularly scheduled meeting on May 13.
   The council approved the request of Roxanne Rios, shop owner of Trendy Treasures,  to sell exotic wines because they were within city ordinance perimeters to sell alcohol.
   The city is looking to change the vehicle weight limit within city limits from 35,000 pounds to 12,500 pounds. 
   The city has no ordinance for oversized loads. The city will be drafting an ordinance for police to escort oversized loads through town.
   An amendment has been made to the amusement tax ordinance.
   The city council meeting, originally scheduled for May 27 has been changed to May 28 due to the Memorial Day holiday.
   Council meetings are the second and fourth Mondays held at the library at 7 p.m.
