When the 2012-2013 school year ended for YISD, contractors did not hesitate to start remodeling the elementary school building, as they have only 90 days from start and finish.
Phase II included the central air and heat of the elementary building, new kindergarten restrooms, upgrading windows at the junior high and the foyer to the auditorium.
At the elementary school, one side of the building’s windows have already been removed. According to Matthew Fitch, employee of K&T Construction, they will be adding outside storage for each classroom and reducing the window size and installing efficient windows from the heat and cold.
