City leaders identify strengths, weaknesses

  There was a team in operation in the Citizens Bank Community Room recently, but they weren’t decked out in tactical gear.  And even though this group was into strategic planning, they weren’t jumping out of the back of an armored truck.  This wasn’t another episode of “S.W.A.T.” – the popular TV series from the 1970’s –  this was a meeting of the Yorktown S.W.O.T. team.

   Headed up by Alan Rasco, executive director of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and Yorktown Economic Development Corporation, and Amy Lamprecht, president of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce,  Yorktown’s SWOT team consisted of approximately 30 citizens – ranging from city managers to business owners to city residents – who attended the meeting and were interested in providing input on the community’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
