OLG Jamaica to feature youth train

Our Lady of Guadalupe’s 87th annual Jamaica will include a new attraction this year. A five-barrel John Deer locomotive will make its debut for the youth of the parish.

The late Raymond Navarro’s vision for the project led to its construction this year by his grandson, Russell Oritz. Navarro was an active parishioner who expressed his wish to construct a locomotive for the youth of the Jamaica to his grandson before his passing. As a tribute to Navarro’s memory, Ortiz decided to carry his grandfather’s vision and named the locomotive, “Popo Loco,” after his grandfather.

This year’s OLG Jamaica will be held Sunday, Sept. 1.
