Cuero Tree Board seeks to preserve town's trees

Most locals do not give a second thought to the trees in the middle of the road. But they are a feature unique to the city. Cuero was named into the Tree City USA program by the Arbor Day Foundation this year. One of the missions of the Cuero Tree Board is the preservation of those trees.
 
The board includes chairman Anthony Netardus, secretary James Hedrick, and members Sandy Dukes, Gelasio Garcia, and Alton Meyer.
 
“Our mission includes the preservation of older, historical trees and to promote education to the community on how to care for and preserve trees,” Dukes said.
