“Quack, quack. Honk, honk!”
We were surrounded as soon as we got out of the car. In a flurry of flapping wings, the geese and ducks at the Cuero City Park almost instantly zeroed in on us and our bag of bread crumbs. Afraid that Gracie, my nine month-old granddaughter, would be frightened, I glanced over only to see a big smile on her face as she watched the big commotion in total fascination.
It was a balmy Tuesday afternoon, made even more humid by an approaching cool front which was expected to blow in that night. My daughter, Cheyenne, and I had driven over to Cuero to visit Gracie and my daughter-in-law, Samantha. We visited a local burger joint before heading over to the park to visit with the ducks and the playground. Samantha made sure she brought a bag of bread crumbs to feed the ducks.
