City makes plans for Coca Cola building

 

A large parking lot sits in between the historic Coca Cola building and the new city offices on Main Street. After the warehouse surrounding the building was demolished in February, council has tossed around a few suggestions for the building’s use. Austin consultant Kim A. Williams visited with the council Oct. 22. The city is considering housing the Cuero Development Corporation offices in the building after renovations are complete.
 
Proposed plans include CDC offices downstairs. To honor the building’s history, an area for Coca Cola memorabilia will also be downstairs. The second floor would include a large meeting room.
 
“What an honorable and swift opportunity to take a mainstay industrial business in community [...] And turn it back into the recruitment and development center,” Williams said at the meeting.
