Man dies after struck by tar truck

Yorktown police officers responded to a truck/pedestrian crash at the 600 block of W. Seventh Street, 8:06 a.m. today. 

Dennis Webster, 75, co-owner of Cummings Paving from Blanco was struck by a tar truck near the intersection of Seventh and West streets. 
 
“Preliminary information is that Webster was overseeing the process of paving when the tar truck started backing,” said Yorktown police officer Joshua Serbin. “Webster was out of the line of vision when the rear of the truck struck and ran over him.”
 
Webster, was pronounced dead at 8:55 a.m. by Justice of the Peace-Precinct 2 Bill Robinson.
 
Webster was taken to Massey Funeral home. 
 
Occupational Safety and Health Administration were notified of the accident.
 
A report of the incident ruled that it was an accident and no one was arrested.
