On Nov. 14, the Yorktown Police Department were informed that damage was being done to the newly paved city streets.
The paving crews found two areas on Twelfth Street where someone had peeled out spinning their tires, which in turn caused the small pea size rock to be displaced from the roadbed.
Yorktown chief of police Paul Campos said, “If anyone is caught causing intentional and reckless damage to the City streets can be charged with criminal mischief, dependant on the extent of damages can be a Class C misdemeanor up to a state jail felony if it is $1,500 or more.”
