Lady Pirates take first district loss

 

 
The Nordheim Lady Pirates faced the Austwell-Tivoli Lady Redfish away on Jan. 14 taking their first loss in district, 44-61.
 
Nordheim took the lead in the first period 12-10 with their speed and good rebounding. Tivoli made the adjustment under the basket limiting Nordheim to 9 points while aggressively scoring 16 points of their own. The half ended with Nordheim behind 21-26.
 
The Lady Redfish came out more intense and in control of the third period. They out scored Nordheim by 11 points extending their lead 32-48. The Lady Pirates made a go of it in the fourth period.  Each Tivoli scored Nordheim answered back. However, the Lady Pirates could not gain the momentum to surpass Tivoli ending the game 44-61. 
 
Nordheim (2-1, 10-9) face The Moulton Kittens (3-0, 14-4) at home Jan. 17. Moulton is currently ranked 14th in state.
