Western DeWitt Wildlife Management Association held the annual Big Buck Contest Awards Banquet on Jan. 25 at the Yorktown Fire Station. Following dinner, awards were presented in several categories.
 
In the Big Buck contest, the winners were: first place, Larry Vasbinder, Remington rifle donated by EKPE Ranch, Warwas Construction and Watson Ag Service and a Whitetail Shoulder Mount from Cabeza Creek Taxidermy; second place, Robert Steves, portable hog trap donated by Menn’s Welding Service and custom knife donated by Weischwill Realty; third place, T.R. Theriot, portable tri-pod stand donated by John Simpson Ranch; fourth place, Robert Fojtik, Diamond receiver hitch feeder donated by Davy Ranch Supply; fifth place, Cory Smith, wildgame game camera donated by Jerry and Mary Steves.
 
In the Spike Division, the winners were: first place, Brian Olsovsky, $300 gift certificate to Schwab’s Gun Shop donated by Roeder Ranches; second place, Rod Seidel, $200 cash donated by Lantz Tire Service; third place, Brandi Olsovsky, custom hunting knife donated by Michael’s Custom Fencing; fourth place, John Simpson, wildgame game camera donated by Jerry and Mary Steves; fifth place, Alex Bock, $75 gift card donated by Apple Lumber Company.
