Voters agreed last year to spend a little over $33 million on two new elementary schools for Cuero ISD. But it is going to take a little longer than was expected.
About a month ago, CISD trustees began looking at a location in a new housing subdivision, The Quarry, for one of those elementary schools. This subdivision is located adjacent to and behind Cuero Junior High and Cuero Intermediate schools.
However, residents in that subdivision strongly disagree with the idea of an elementary school in their neighborhood.
At Thursday’s school board meeting, four couples told the trustees how they felt.
