Trick play surprises Shiner

 

 
The Yorktown Wildcats lost their district opener against Shiner on March 18 away by a score of 1-14.
 
Yorktown baseball coach Justin Havard said, “The boys played really well. It was probably the best they have played all year.”
 
To keep things in perespective, Shiner averages 10.3 runs per game with 5.8 hits and 1.8 errors.
 
Yorktown had four errors during the worst possible moment. However, Coach Havard found a way to get out of a situation. He said, “We ran a pretty sweet trick play to get us out of an inning and even had their coach by surprise.”
 
The Wildcats lost to Weimar at home by a score of 0-24.
 
Yorktown will play Flatonia away on March 25 followed up with another away game against Louise March 28.
