Community participation makes March 29 BGCDC festival a success

Dear Editor,

The Boys & Girls Club of DeWitt County Board of Directors wishes to express its sincerest appreciation of the community participation in the BGC festival held March 29.

The festival was an enormous success as a result of the profound outpouring of support by the following organizations, churches or businesses that provided time and talents: Rotary Club, University Club, Cuero Intermediate School PTO, TrustTexas Bank, TDECU, Trinity Church, HEB, Cuero ISD Athletics Department, Walmart, McDonald’s, Sonic Drive In, DeWitt Poth & Sons Office Supplies, Keep Cuero Beautiful, Pet Adoptions of Cuero, Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, Cuero Community Hospital, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Cuero Historical Museum, Cuero ISD, TMC Head Start, Flower Child Face Painting, City of Cuero Parks Department, Pilot Club, St. Michael’s Youth Group, Mission Nursing & Rehabilitation, Sheryl Hudgeons, New Beginnings Daycare, Cuero Police Department, Cuero National Bank, The Cuero Record, Dairy Queen, State Farm Insurance, A+ Party Rentals.

Many more community members not named have contributed to the formative steps of the BGCDC and are thanked for their generous support. This journey from dream to reality has only been accomplished as a result of phenomenal community efforts. Cuero has so very much of which to be proud.

More work is yet ahead for this project. Stay tuned as we prepare a building and plan programming so BGCDC may serve, “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”

Board president Christi Fuchs and first vice president Shannon Haun
