YISD names new JHS leader

There will be a new junior high school principal walking the Yorktown school campus effective May 1.

Yorktown Independent School District superintendent Alan Umholtz made a recommendation that the board of trustees hire Jason L. Hybner, 33, as the new junior high principal at the board meeting held on March 24. The vote was unanimous.

Hybner graduated from University of Houston-Victoria in 2003 and started his career in special education at Victoria ISD in 2004. While working he pursued his education and received his masters from UT-Arlington in 2009. In 2010 he became an assistant principal for Victoria ISD at their middle school. His last position was principal for a University of Texas-University Charter School for 2012-2013 school year.
