The Cuero High School boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed at the 3A District 26  tournament held at Riverside Park in Victoria on April 7-8. Both teams came home with medals.

During the first round, with the weather cooler and misty, the Lady Gobblers shot a 411. They were in second place by one stroke over Gonzales.

On the second day the winds picked up considerably.

Cuero golf coach Scott Spanton said, “The girls really stepped up and played well despite the strong winds. It was good to see as it helped to separate the gap from Gonzales and close the gap on Yoakum.”
