Kitty Kats make historic comeback in final game

 

The Yorktown Kitty Kats ‘brought the house down’ during their last district game at home against the Kenedy Leopards on April 15 with a very surprised ending defeating the Leopards 12-11.
 
The Kitty Kats fell behind early in the game which continued to domino through  the fourth inning trailing behind Kenedy 2-10.
 
Bottom of the fifth inning Nadia Pena led the team with a grounder to short stop for a single. Rebecca Mireles hit a pop fly just over short stop for a single. Reagan Cunningham hit a hard ground ball up first base line for an RBI. Maddie Bryand strikes out. Morgan Campos makes a sacrifice play for an RBI. Kendalyn Naranjo hits a hard ground ball up and over second base for an RBI. Naranjo steals second and third on an overthrow to the catcher. Sam Niemeier hits a fly ball to right field for the third out. The Kats closed the gap 5-10.
 
Victoria said, “ [The win] looked uncertain.”
