Rural burn ban tabled at county meeting

 

With anywhere from 3” to 5” of rain recorded throughout DeWitt County from Sunday to Tuesday, it did not take commissioners court long to table a rural burn ban. 
 
The drought index over the past month has indicated this county should considered a burn ban because of a lack of rain. So a burn ban has been discussed by the county.
 
However, prior to the last two discussions, the county has received some rain and the ban was tabled.
 
“It looks like it’s worked again,” said Judge Daryl Fowler, referring to a rain before the court met.
