Even the overcast skies couldn’t dull the enthusiasm in the Yorktown City Park Sunday evening when the Keep Yorktown Beautiful organization held it’s city park improvement project kickoff event. 
 
Donna Roeder, the driving force behind the project, wielded the scissors at a ribbon cutting event held in front of the newly installed gazebo. Guests included Yorktown Mayor Rene Hernandez and City Administrator Robert Mendez, as well as city council members, KYB members and supporters and community members. Free hot dogs and hamburgers were served during the evening, as well as a “Walk in the Park” shared by all the participants. The Yorktown Lions Club offered free visual screenings in the Yorktown Public Library.
