Thank you for promoting a passion for reading

Dear Editor,
Cuero ISD would like to thank our Reading Is Fundamental Program book sponsors for the 2012-2013 school year. A Gobbler round of applause goes to Cuero National Bank - Branch of First National Bank of Shiner, Cuero Rotary Club, Cuero Lions Club, and Cuero ISD Education Foundation for their generous donations. Because of their continued partnership, we were able to hold three book distributions throughout the school year. Approximately 2,118 brand-new books were chosen by 706 students in grades pre-K through third to begin or add to their home library. These books motivate our students to discover the joys and value of reading. Thank you for helping promote a passion for reading and learning!
Sincerely,
Ruby Rodriguez

Thanks to all who helped "Love One Another" walk

Dear Editor,
We would like to thank all those who helped and donated to the success of the “Love One Another” walk and gathering. This was a great event in gathering the churches together in Christ and fellowship. We would also like to give a special thanks to Cuero H-E-B and Walmart for their continuous support of events that promote the community. Also a thank you and God bless to all the pastors that recognize the need for such a move and participated in support of the community.

Thanks to a wonderful angel

Dear Editor,
I just wanted to thank an unknown person who helped us out in our time of need. At approximately 7 a.m. on May 16 my husband and I were on our way back home from a trip that was caught short because my husband was feeling ill. When we reached the corner of Hunt and Sarah Street, my husband had passed out. I took control of the steering wheel and took the vehicle out of gear.
When we came to a stop, a woman came to the door and took control. She tried to get my husband to respond, called an ambulance and stayed with us until the ambulance arrived. When my husband was put into the ambulance I looked around and the lady had already gone.
I just wanted to say thank you to our wonderful angel.
Sincerely,
Otto Lee and Delores Koenning
