Brylee Jo Dlugosch born March 31

Brian and Denise Dlugosch of Yorktown are proud to announce the birth of their second daughter, Brylee Jo Dlugosch. She was born at 12:34 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at DeTar Women’s Center in Victoria. She weighed seven pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 and a half inches long. She is being welcomed by big sister Bentlee Rae. Maternal grandparents are Charles and Shirley Degenhardt of Manhattan, Kan. Maternal great-grandparents are Mary Moege and the late Wilbur Moege of Alma, Kan., and the late Leo and Mildred Degenhardt of Alma, Kan. Paternal grandparents are Pete and Patricia Dlugosch of Yorktown. Paternal great-grandparents are Marvin and Mary Kunschik of Gillett, and the late Phillip and Lorene Dlugosch of Cuero. Niemeier–Gips

Tracey and Mark Niemeier of Yorktown are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katelyn Amanda Niemeier, to Caleb James Gips, son of Kathy and Jimmy Gips of Cuero. Katelyn graduated from Yorktown High School in 2011 and received a certificate in business management from Victoria College. She is employed at the Primrose Cottage. Caleb graduated from Yorktown High School in 2010 and will graduate in May from the McCoy Business School at Texas State University with a BBA in management. Jayne Rickman and James May are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Cheyenne Briley May, to Casey Aaron Bowen, son of Lee Ann and Craig Bowen. Cheyenne is a 2011 graduate of Goliad High School. She attends Texas A&M–Corpus Christi and is pursuing a bachelors degree in English with a teaching certification. Casey is a 2011 graduate of Goliad High. He attends Texas A&M–Corpus Christi and is pursuing a bachelors degree in kinesiology with a focus in pre-occupational therapy. Cheyenne is the granddaughter of Cathy and Lavern Meyer of Weesatche and Julia May and the late Wesley May of Cuero. Casey is the grandson of Judy and A.J. Kolodziejcyk returns from Afghanistan

Kurtis Kolodziejcyk, center, is shown with a few of his buddies. He is taking a break from patrol in Afghanistan. Kolodziejcyk, a 2010 graduate of Cuero High School, served eight months in Gamberi, Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Polk, La. Allison Grader and Daniel Jones of Reston, Va. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Madeline Claire Grader-Jones, to Clifford Allen Stanchos, son of Peggy and Donald Stanchos of Cuero. The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Mansion in Austin. Madeline is a 2005 graduate of the University of North Carolina–Wilmington and works as an English teacher at the Connally High School in Austin. Clifford is a 2005 graduate of the University of Texas and works as a history teacher at the McCallum High School in Austin. Niemeier honored with rice bag party

Katie Niemeier, bride-elect of Caleb Gips, was honored with a rice bag party on Saturday, March 22, at the home of Debbie Niemeier.  The guests created many beautiful rice bags and a decorated basket to be used at Katie’s wedding reception.  

Special guests were Katie, Sam Niemeier, Wycoda Fischer, Haley Gips, Tracy Niemeier, mother of the bride-elect;  and Kathy Gips, mother of the prospective groom.  Food and fun were had by all.
