Kuecker, Bailiff announce engagement

Wayne and Shirley Kuecker, of Cuero, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kaci Nicole Kuecker, of Denton, to James Lee Bailiff, of Denton, son of Richard Bailiff of Banner Elk, N.C. and Chris Beaulieu of Nokomis, Fla. Kaci is a 2007 graduate of Cuero High School, and a 2010 graduate of Texas Christian University where she received a bachelor of science in middle school math education.  She received a masters in secondary education from Texas Christian University in 2011, and is employed as an eighth grade math and algebra teacher with Timberview Middle School in Keller.

Derle and Martha Cuellar, of Cuero, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with children and grandchilren. The couple was married on May 10, 1963.

Dworaczyk, Foulds announce engagement

 

   Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dworaczyk of Yorktown are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brynn Jordan Dworaczyk, to Clifton George Foulds III.
   Brynn is the granddaughter of Manroy and Gracie Wolpman of Yorktown; and Bill Dworaczyk and the late Delores Wishert of Yorktown.
   Cliff is the son of John and Melissa Biemer, and the late Cliff Foulds, Jr.; and the grandson of Larry and Sue Odom of Yorktown, and the late Cecil Murphy; Pauline Roch and the late Cliff Foulds Sr. of Houston; and Burt and Barbara Biemer of Yorktown.

Sixtos receives masters degree

 

   Joy Sixtos, daughter of Frank and Minnie Sixtos of Yorktown, graduated May 3 from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie. 
   She received a masters of arts degree in theological studies. 
   Joy was a 2004 honors graduate of Yorktown High School. 
  She attained an associate of science degree in 2004; an associate of arts degree from Victoria College in 2007; and, a bachelor of business administration degree in 2008 from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Herwig completes CNA course

 

   Morgan Herwig, a Yorktown High School senior, recently completed her Certified Nurse Aide course at Yorktown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center under the direction of M. Feliz Garcia, LVN ADON.  
   YNRC has worked with Morgan on a flexible schedule to complete her 75 hours of training. Morgan completed all her coursework and clinical hours at YNRC, with absolutely no cost to her.  
   Feliz has been teaching the CNA course for over 34 years.

Gracelynn Gohlke baptised April 21

 

   Gracelynn Hope Gohlke, daughter of K.W. and Samantha Gohlke, all of Yorktown, received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on Sunday, April 21, during the morning service at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Bay City with the Rev. Bradley Sullivan officiating.
   Presented for baptism by her parents, Gracelynn was radiant in a long, formal gown of white satin, created by her great-grandmother, Marta Flores of Yorktown.  The gown featured white scalloped lace encrusted with iridescent and pearl beading and white satin ribbon roses along the waistline and at the edge of the short puffed sleeves and hem. She wore a white knitted cap embellished with a large white flower, also a gift of her great-grandmother.  Gracelynn was wrapped in a special baptismal shawl hand-knitted by her great-aunt, Pam Culpepper of Yorktown.

   Dr. Paul and Becky Meriwether of Mt. Pleasant are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Allison Rachel Meriwether, to Jonathan Ryan Rogenmoser. 
   The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Allen and Joyce Weise of Yorktown and Betty Meriwether and the late Tom Meriwether of Mt. Pleasant.

Caroline Elliott Cowey born April 13

Caroline Elliott Cowey was born on  at 12:16 a.m. on April 13. She weighed six pounds and six ounces and measured 19 and a half inches. She was welcomed by parents Brandon and Haley Cowey of San Antonio. Her grandparents are Herb Lancaster and the late Sherry Lancaster of Port Aransas and Dianne Cowey and the late Phil Cowey of Cuero. Her great-grandparents are Hugh and Solvej Lancaster and W.H. Black and Sarah Gooch and the late Frank and Leonita Ulman and the late Buddie and Lillian Cowey.

West, Conrad married April 13

 

   Brooke West and Jared Conrad were married at 5:30 p.m. on April 13 at Rustic Gardens in San Antonio. Pastor Justin Grace of Connecting Point Church of College Station officiated the double-ring ceremony.
   The bride is the daughter of Leonard and Susan West of Adkins. She is the granddaughter of Ray and Betty Smith, Lorene West and the late Leonard West Sr.
   The groom is the son of Missy and Richard Randle of Cuero. He is the grandson of Jim Conrad, also of Cuero, and the late Margaret Conrad.

Hudgeons inducted into honor society

 

   Victoria Hudgeons was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society for four-year colleges and universities, on April 19. 
   Sigma Tau Delta was established in 1924 to confer distinction for high achievement in English language, literature and writing. It is dedicated to fostering literacy and all aspects of the discipline of English. There are over 825 Sigma Tau Delta chapters worldwide.
