Allen Alfred Albrecht

Allen Alfred Albrecht, 88, of Mission Valley, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. He was born March 13, 1926 in Mission Valley to the late Alfred Frederick and Bertha Adickes Albrecht. 

As a young boy in the country, he spent countless hours chasing rabbits and hunting squirrels. As he grew, he discovered he had a real love for coon hunting, which he did for many years. In his younger years, horses were a necessity. Later in life, that led to a love of horses and he became well known as being quite the horse handler and cowboy.

Elizabeth Joan Migura

Elizabeth Joan Migura, 75, of Victoria, passed away January 21, 2015. She was born in Yorktown on June 14, 1939 to the late John and Elizabeth Wagner Pokluda. She worked for AT&T and Southwestern Bell for over 42 years where she was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters St. Ann Court #369 and taught CCD for many years. Elizabeth volunteered at DeTar Hospital for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Emory Migura of Victoria; daughter, Melissa Straarup and husband, Soren, of Victoria; sisters, Janet Hadash of San Antonio and Judy Morgan of Houston; brothers, Ladis Pokluda of Georgetown and John Pokluda of Cuero; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Migura.

Gertrude Natho Boehm

Gertrude Natho Boehm, 98, of Cuero, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015. She was born August 11, 1916 in Nordheim to the late Otto and Lydia Borem Natho. She married Eddie Boehm on October 10, 1936 in Orange Grove. Gertrude was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Sons of Hermann. Gertrude was a nanny and private sitter, and loved gardening and working in the yard.
 
She is survived by her sons, Harvey Lee Boehm of Houston and Jerome “Jerry” Boehm of Cuero; daughter, Betty Myrl Tacker of Woodland Hills, CA; sister, Edna Krautz of Orange Grove; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Edmund “Eddie” Boehm; brother, Edgar Natho; and sisters, Adela DeReese and Bernice Smith.

Bluford Brantley Smith II, 68, of Yoakum, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2015. He was born on July 14, 1946 in Kilgore to the late Elizabeth (Dove) and Bluford Smith I. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.
 
Services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas at 10:15 a.m.

Paul Duncan Harris III

Paul Duncan Harris III, 83 years, passed away at Nags Head, North Carolina on Friday, December 19, 2014, after a lengthy illness. 
 
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy Kasper Harris, formerly of Cuero, Texas, a son, Charles Lee Harris of Virginia, two daughters, Leah Lynn Stafford and Catherine Suzanne Harris of Colorado, eight grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, and his sister, Jeanne Harris Bruck of Arizona.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leonard and Gertrude Milmine Harris, a daughter, Paulette Dee Fogle, and a granddaughter, Suzanne Harris.
