Josephine Coleman

 

Josephine Coleman, 100, of Yorktown died Friday Jan. 3, 2014. She was born Sept. 28, 1913 in Yorktown to the late Kasper and Fredericka Bluhm Weiss. 
 
She is survived by her daughters Jo Lynn (Larry) Neese of Goliad and Kay (Wayne) Price of San Antonio. She is also survived by grandson Greg Neese, three great grandchildren, eight nieces and one nephew.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Sam Coleman, sisters Edna Franz, Gladys Brandt and half brother Max Schuenemann.
 
Graveside service was at 1 p.m. Jan. 5 at Westside Cemetery in Yorktown.

Cosme G. Maldonado, 72 of Cuero, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. 
 
He was born on Feb. 10, 1941 in Cuero to Jose Maldonado and Dolores Garcia. 
 
He is survived by his sons Albert Maldonado (Mary) of Seguin, Alfred Maldonado of Seguin, and Jamie Maldonado of Seguin; daughters Alicia Lopez of Comanche and Rosemary Salazar of Seguin; sisters Rosita M. Hernandez of Victoria, Elena M. Licon of Cuero, and Dolores Perez of Victoria; brothers Moises G. Maldonado of Kingsville, Domingo G. Maldonado of Yoakum, and Jose Maldonado of Westhoff; 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Gracie Lopez; sisters Marcelina Rios, Frances Rodriguez, and Manuela Estrada; brothers Raymond G. Maldonado, Guadalupe G. Maldonado, Frank G. Maldonado, and Nicolas G. Maldonado.

John Louis Priddy

John Louis Priddy, 79, of Goliad, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013. He was born August 12, 1934, in Seymour to Othal and Fern Stevens Priddy. John retired from General Telephone  Company after 32 years on the job. He was a people person who never met a stranger. John was also an avid rancher and fisherman and enjoyed a fishing trip to Alaska with his son, son-in-law, and grandsons.  He was a faithful member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Weesatche.

James Edward Pridgen

James Edward Pridgen, MD, age 95, of San Antonio, passed away at home on Christmas Eve 2013 in the presence of his loving and devoted family. He went by many names. To his children, he was Daddy or Dad. To his grandchildren he was Daddy Jim. To his hundreds of patients he was Dr. Pridgen and to his myriad of friends he was simply, Jim.
