Blanche “Bebe” Breeden Benson

 

   Blanche “Bebe” Breeden Benson, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at her home in Hawaii, surrounded by family.
   She was born July 29, 1929 in Cuero to the late Fielding and Jane Breeden of Cuero. Bebe moved to Hawaii in 1967, where she resided for 46 years. She was a former school teacher both in Texas and Hawaii.
   She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Benson, and son, Guy, also her brother, Fielding Breeden Jr.  Bebe is survived by four children: Blanche (Robin) Yoshida, Elizabeth (Phil) Soon, Rebecca (David) Jay, and Fielding Benson, all whom reside in Hawaii. She has 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
   A celebration of her life will be held  at 10:30 a.m. on May 28 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Wahiawa, Hawaii, followed by burial at Schofield Cemetery.

   Bernard Aldis, 66, of Cuero passed away Friday, May 3, 2013. 
   He was born May 30, 1946 in Cuero to the late Ira and Mary Harryman Aldis.
   He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Jeanie)  Aldis; sons, Walter and Allen Aldis; sisters, Wanda (Kathy)  Lacina and Mary Helen (Pete) Aldis; grandchildren, Joshau Aldis, Caden Aldis, and Chrystal Aldis; great-grandchildren, Layton Aldis, Arabella Aldis, Ryan Wormington, and Phoenix Aldis.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, May Pearl Aldis; brother-in-law, A.J. Lacina.
   Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Freund Funeral. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Freund Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Micah Hopkins

 

   Micah Hopkins, age 62 of Houston, formerly of Cuero, died Thursday May 2, 2013 in Houston with family surrounding him. 
   Micah was born Aug. 4, 1950 in Cuero to the late Joel Love Sr. and Fannie Blackwell. Micah served his country in the U.S. Army.
   Micah is survived by his wife, Carol Hopkins of Houston, daughters Cassandra Hopkins-Whiten, Tonya Hopkins and Tesa Hopkins; brothers, Calvin, Ernest, John and Lawrence Blackwell and Terry Love; sisters, Ann Hopkins, Joyce Pickens, Zella and Stella Blackwell; and six grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joel Love Jr.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on May 11 at Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Roy officiating. Burial will be at Nobles Cemetery in Cuero.
