Ethosha L. Holman

 

Ethosha L. Holman entered into rest on February 8, 2015 at the age of 41. She was born on December 21, 1973 to Johnal Holman and Viola M. Holman in Cuero, Texas.
 
She is survived by her parents, her sons J’Kalen Holman and Tyler Hargrove; her sister Taberoha Jackson, her brothers Garland Price and Jerry “Cortney” Price, foster brother John Anthony Aguilar; and her grandmothers Patricia Barnett and Lorene Holman.
 
Services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Cuero Competition Gym in Cuero, TX beginning at 11 a.m. with eulogy by Pastor Paula Hopkins and officiated by Reverend Lawrence Roy.

Archie Riley Siegmund

Archie Riley Siegmund was born June 11, 1938 in Giddings, Texas to George and Adelheit Baack Seigmund. He passed on February 5, 2015.

Archie attended school in Taylor, Texas where he took an active part in athletics, including football, basketball, track and boxing. After graduating from high school, Archie joined the marines and served two years active duty. Next, he went to college where he earned a B.S. degree at Texas A & I in Kingsville, Texas and later a master degree from Corpus Christi State University.

He taught at Schulenburg High School and M. Baker Jr. High in Corpus Christi where he later became a vice principal.

After retiring, Archie moved to Yorktown, Texas where he enjoyed farming and ranching. He moved back to Taylor in 2012.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering in Burnet, Texas at 2 p.m. on Saturday 14, 2015 at Northside Baptist Church, 103 Shady Grove Road.

Pauline A. Vela

Pauline A. Vela, 85, of San Antonio, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015. She was born May 14, 1929 in Yorktown to the late Cecilia and Onesimo Abrego. She married Refugio Vela on June 5, 1954 in Yorktown. Pauline was a homemaker, Guadalupana, and Jamaica Queen. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends. 
 
She is survived by her husband, Refugio Vela; daughters, Cecilia Kiki Vela of San Antonio; sons, Michael Vela and wife, Ruth, of San Antonio and Eddie Vela and wife, Evie, of Waxahachie; sister, Irene Diaz; grandchildren, Michael Joseph Vela, Monica Jeanette Farias, D'Jae Marie Welling, Donald Luke Vela, and Marcus Anthony Lopez; great-grandchildren, Desiree Farias, Isabella Farias, and Colton Welling; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank B. John

Heaven received another angel on Feb. 3, 2015 when Frank B. John peacefully passed away surrounded by family at the age of 87.

He was born in Garfield, Texas on July 2, 1927 to Thomas and Josie John. He retired from Lone Star Brewery after 37 years, was a veteran of World War II, and a master craftsman.

He enjoyed traveling, hunting, gardening, and country western dancing. His legacy is one of great wisdom, integrity, love, and wit.

Allen Alfred Albrecht

Allen Alfred Albrecht, 88, of Mission Valley, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. He was born March 13, 1926 in Mission Valley to the late Alfred Frederick and Bertha Adickes Albrecht. 

As a young boy in the country, he spent countless hours chasing rabbits and hunting squirrels. As he grew, he discovered he had a real love for coon hunting, which he did for many years. In his younger years, horses were a necessity. Later in life, that led to a love of horses and he became well known as being quite the horse handler and cowboy.
