Leona Lillie Brieger

Leona Lillie Brieger, 90, of Kingsville, formerly of Yorktown, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015. She was born July 30, 1924, in Yorktown, to the late Ceasar and Martha Warmuth Metting.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaVerne Brieger; and son, Cary Brieger.

She is survived by her son, Harlan Brieger (Angie) of Kingsville; grandchildren, Ashley Brieger of Kingsville and Megan Brieger of Waco; great-granddaughter, Madeline Rangel of Kingsville; and brother Roland Metting (Mary) of Yorktown.

Visitation is 5-8pm, Monday, May 18, 2015, at Finch Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10am, Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Finch Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Arden Seiler, Brett Ckodre, Dennis Mueller, Lawrence Ckodre, Joe Blaschke, and Danny Cruz. Honorary Pallbearer is Tom Ozuna.

June Catherine "Cathy" Meyer

WEESATCHE – June Catherine “Cathy” Meyer 76, of Weesatche passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of cancer, Thursday May 14, 2015.  She was born July 23, 1938 in Runge, Texas to the late Adolph and Margueriete Spinks Stehle. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Cathy loved animals, working on the family ranch, cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends. She married the love of her life, Lavern Meyer on May 30, 1958 in Cuero.

Nabor Barron Sr.

Nabor Barron Sr., 68, of Victoria, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015. He was born April 30, 1947 in Westhoff to the late Juan Barron and Maria Gamboa. He married the love of his life, Elena Barron, on August 6, 2005 in Cuero. He is a Vietnam Veteran and worked in the oil industry as a truck driver.

He is survived by his beloved wife; daughters, Melissa Barron Cross (Anthony) of Plano, Jennifer Slaten of Victoria, Maria McElroy (Patrick) of Victoria, and Evie Bazaldua (Aldo) of Henderson; sons, Nabor Barron Jr. (Yolanda) of Cuero, Ricky Garcia (Alicia) of Victoria, and Aaron Barron (Elizabeth) of Texas City; sisters, Irene Villa (Sammy) of Cuero and Olga Tounley (Charles) of Cuero; brothers, John Barron (Patsy) of Cuero, Domingo Barron (Gloria) of Westhoff, and Mike Barron of San Antonio; and seventeen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Nolan Sucher

Ret. Pastor Nolan Sucher, 72, Flower Mound, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2015. 

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, four sons of a blended family, Brian, Flower Mound; Bradley, Murphy; Brandon, Arvada, CO; and Ret. Col. Doyle Turner, San Antonio; grandchildren Rylee and Raegan Sucher, Flower Mound, TX; Katie and Kristen Sucher, Murphy, TX; Amelia Sucher, Arvada, CO; Jordin, Jett, Kenan and Kaleb Turner, San Antonio, TX; and sisters Norlene Ckodre, Victoria; Karen Blaschke, Spring; and Kathy Ozuna, Cuero. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah, and his wife, Judy.

Jerry Hahn Jr.

Jerry Hahn Jr. 66, of Yorktown died Tuesday May 12, 2015. He was born Aug. 18, 1948 in Meyersville to the late Jerry and Pauline Broll Hahn Sr. He was a car enthusiast, an avid hunter and fisherman. Jerry never met a stranger, he always had a story or a joke and would talk to anyone. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jerry served in the US Army in Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Heasley on June 10, 1978 in Pasadena.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Phyllis Hahn of Yorktown, daughters Mandy Hahn of Yorktown and Laura Hahn of Karnes City, granddaughter Hannah Zimmermann, sisters Carolyn Wyrwich of St. Hedwig, Betty Hahn of San Antonio and Mary Gayle Warnasch of Stockdale. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, his companions Nugget and Barkley and his four chickens.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patsy Ideus and Florence Neinast.

Carroll James "C.J." Bolting

Carroll James “C.J.” Bolting.  Feb. 19, 1943 - April 30, 2015. Resident of New Braunfels, Texas. After a courageous battle with cancer, C.J. fell asleep surrounded by his family and woke in the arms of his Lord. C.J. was born and raised in Nordheim, was a 1961 alum of Nordheim High School, raised his family in Victoria, and retired in New Braunfels after concluding his 38 year tenure with CP&L/AEP.

He was the youngest of five children born to the late Otto and Alice Bolting and was the beloved husband of Gladys Haak Bolting for over 50 years. 

C.J. will forever be remembered by his devoted wife, Gladys; loving children Brett and Nancy Bolting, Todd and Amy Bolting, and Charlie and Holly Spear; treasured grandchildren Paige, Ashlyn, and Addison Bolting and Jackson Spear; beloved siblings Georgia Guzy, O.F. Bolting, and John Bolting as well as countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
