Miller inducted into TLU Athletics HOF

Texas Lutheran University held its TLU Salutes Awards Banquet on November 6, 2009. Richard Miller of Cuero (Cuero High School 1980; TLU 1987) was among one of the recepients and was inducted into TLU Athletics Hall of Fame. A native of Cuero, Miller arrived at TLU in 1983 and proceeded to produce three of the finest rushing and kick-return seasons in Bulldog history. In 280 career rushing attempts, Miller averaged 5.8 yards per carry. In his senior season of 1985, Miller claimed NAIA All American honors after rushing 1,010 yards, scoring six touchdowns, averaging 6.2 yards per carry, and setting the school's Single Game Rushing Record of 276 yards. Miller also led the nation in kickoff returns, averaging 32 yards per return. He scored on a 90-yard kick return during his All-Amercan season of 1985 setting the school's Longest Kickoff Return Record of 90 yards.
