The Cuero Adult Gobblers, one of the newest teams and member of the South Texas Amateur Football League, will return to action this Saturday, January 16, at Hunt Field for a charity game benefiting the Cole Thomas Pargmann Scholarship Fund.
The Adult Gobblers kicked of their inaugural season last month in another charity game benefiting the C.A.M.A.L. House, just in time for Christmas. In that contest, the Gobblers showed why although they are new to the league, they are not new to the game. The Gobblers came away with an impressive 34-6 victory over the Floresville Texas Tigers.
The game this Saturday is set to kick-off at 1:00 p.m. at Hunt Field. The Gobblers will take on the Texas Heat headquartered out of San Antonio. The Heat are owned by Eloy Vera Jr. who is also the owner/CEO of the South Texas Amateur Football League.
“Charity events are our big key in being a success in San Antonio,” said Vera. “If we show our love to the the city, the city will show their love back to us.”
All proceeds from the game will benefit the Cole Thomas Pargmann Scholarship Fund. If you would like to be a sponsor of this game, call Billie Basquez at (210) 607-2939. The community is invited to attend to help make this a big success for Cole and the Pargmann family.
