New Gobbler AD on CISD agenda

Cuero School District trustees will meet Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. for its monthly meeting. The meeting will be held at the board room of DeWitt - Lavaca Coop. Building.
Among the 15 items on the agenda is the possible employment of a new athletic director, head football coach.
Only one person has been interviewed for the position since the school board announced it would take applications from CISD staff members to fill the vacancy.
Supt. Henry Lind reports the committee interviewed Cuero High School coach/teacher Rick Owens for the position on Saturday. He said Owens will be the committee’s recommendation to the school board.
Athletic Director Mark Reeve announced his resignation effective January 8 after serving in that position for seven years. He has accepted a coaching position with Texas Lutheran College in Seguin.
Supt. Lind said the committee had received two applications for the position but Coach Travis Reeve had withdrawn his application. It was reported he is interviewing for a coaching position in the San Antonio School District.
Other items on Wednesday’s agenda include the annual evaluation and contract consideration of Supt. Lind, the annual audit report and a new technology plan.
