Voter registration deadline Monday

DeWitt County Clerk’s Office is now accepting applications for early voting ballots by mail for the primary elections to be held March 2. Call the Clerk’s Office at 361-275-0864 to see if you qualify for a mail ballot.
Residents are also reminded that Monday, Feb. 1, is the deadline to register to vote in the Democrat and Republican primaries. Voter registration applications are available at the DeWitt County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office or online at: www.votetexas.org.
Early voting in person will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 16 and continue through Friday, Feb. 26.
Early voting in person will be at the DeWitt County Annex, 115 N. Gonzales St., in Cuero in the courtroom. The hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m.
Voters are reminded to bring their voter registration card (blue color) or driver’s license or ID card.
Individuals may also check online to determine if they are registered or update their registration information if they have moved throughout the state. Any changes to a voter’s existing registration should be made by February 1 to be applicable to the elections in March.
