Mark Rushing, managing partner of Sodalis Elder Living Communities, complimented Cuero’s leadership for its help in the decision to open an assisted living, Alzheimer's facility here.
Groundbreaking ceremonies sponsored by Cuero Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture were held Thursday for the new facility.
Rushing told those in attendance they hope to begin construction in about a month and plan to have it completed this summer.
The project will include two facilities. One will be a 16-unit assisted living facility and the other will be a 16-unit Alzheimer patient facility.
Rushing noted Joe Reuss of Cuero encouraged the group to build in Cuero. He also said several of the project’s partners are from Cuero.
