G.D. Pattillo, 90, of Cuero passed away Sunday, January 22, 2010. He was born in Milam County on October 17, 1919 to the late Dave and Josie Kraatz Pattillo. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He worked for the DeWitt County Road Department and in agriculture. He was married to his late wife, Annie Mae Sasse for 50 years. G.D. married Gladys Carpenter on April 24, 1990 in Cuero.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys; stepson, Ray Carpenter and wife, Carol; sister, Gladine Bramham of Victoria; and niece, Lana Goode and husband Travis of Victoria.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Annie Mae; son, William Pattillo; sister, Alice Sammons; and a sister and brother that passed at infancy.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010, 10:30 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Debby Lake officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Cuero.
Pallbearers will be David Meyer, Travis Goode, Wes Dukes, Ray Sager, Joe Reuss, and Jeff Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Kurtz, Librado Mendez, Freddie Langhoff, Martin Leske, and Alfred Little.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Accolade Hospice.
