Cuero Community Hospital Board spent most of last week's meeting hearing from Director of Radiology Brian Olsovsky, concerning a new MRI unit for CCH.

 Paddling trail effort seeks support
Sometime in the near future there will be a discussion about adding a portion of the Guadalupe River near Cuero to a series of paddling trails from San Antonio to Victoria.

GVEC notes increase
At its June board meeting, the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) Board of Directors approved a rate increase to compensate for the rising cost of generating electricity.

Record office holiday
The Cuero Record will be closed Friday, July 4th, to allow staff members to spend time with their families on the holiday.

July 4th Carnival at City Park
Members of Grace Episcopal Church are preparing for their annual 4th of July Family Fun Carnival to be held on Friday, July 4, at the Cuero Park Pavilion. Activities will begin with the ‘Young Patriots Parade' at 9:30 a.m. and the carnival will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Grace Episcopal Church July 4 Family Fun Carnival features old-fashioned family fun. Youngsters will gather at the Park Pavilion at 9:30 a.m. and parade behind VFW's Bobby Schley carrying the United States flag.
