Gobblers baseball team 4-0 in district

The Cuero Gobblers did not allow many pitches into the Smithville catcher’s mitt on March 25 at home. Only five Gobblers struck out for the entire seven innings and little could stop their rally in the second inning. With seven singles, one double and two walks the Gobblers scored nine runs and held Smithville scoreless for the 9-0 win.
Austin Johnson pitched the last six innings for the win allowing only three hits. He struck out 10 batters while the Gobblers took care of business in the field. Johnson is currently 2-0 for district and 4-2 overall allowing 7 hits, 3 BB, and 22 strikeouts.
