Tucked away in historic downtown Victoria sits a quaint building, which is home to the Victoria Art League. Each month, they spotlight one of their members. Through Oct. 10, that artist is Cuero’s own Marsha Gibson.
“I was thrilled,” Gibson said of the art league reaching out to her for her first exhibit. A mathematics teacher in Corpus Christi for over three decades, Gibson and her husband, Kyle, moved to Cuero in 1997.
Photography has always been an interest to her, but it was mainly snapshots with film cameras until her daughter bought her a Nikon 3.1 mega pixel.
“My daughter gave me a digital camera for Christmas one year,” she recalled. “I looked at that thing and thought, “What am I gonna do with this?” That was sometime before 2007, when I bought my first large, digital camera.”
Gibson learned everything she could with her little camera, taking many neat pictures and only growing her love for photography.
