Cuero Fire Department hosted a “Push In” ceremony for a new fire truck, Engine 1, on Monday, Oct. 7 at the fire-station. The push-in tradition dates back hundreds of years, and consists of the firefighters, along with the community, “pushing” in the new fire engine into the station. Cuero Mayor Sara Post Meyer spoke to the crowd, and thanked all those involved.

“Without all of the cooperation of all of the folks in this community, this would not have happened,” stated Mayor Meyer.

Cuero Fire Department Captain Clint Morris addressed the crowd, and thanked Cuero City Council, along with City Manager, Raymie Zella, City Secretary, Jennifer Zufelt, and City Finance Office, Connie Hawes for their help.

Morris also thanked the Cuero Fire Department firefighters for their dedication and ‘leg work’ for getting the engine perfected. “With a new fire truck, we will have a lot more space and organization for tools,” said Morris to the crowd, “so that we can better protect the citizens of Cuero.”
