From Rome to Yorktown

Yorktown High School welcomed a special guest for the 2019-2020 school year. Anna Balduin, a 16-year-old international exchange student from Rome, Italy became an official Kitty Kat in August, when she traveled over 5,000 miles from Rome to Yorktown.
Balduini’s host parents, Lawrence and Bethany Noel, worked with the Council for Educational Travel, USA and volunteered to host an international student for the year. Balduini mentioned in an interview that she made the decision to be a part of the exchange program a little late compared to others, deciding in March that she wanted to participate.
A large reason Balduini wanted to participate in the exchange program was her desire to study English.
“English is becoming more important,” stated Balduini “so if I know it, I can do better in the future.”
