Jeri Ficklen, after giving her verbal agreement, put pen to paper on Friday, Nov. 12, and officially committed to attend Texas A&M-Kingsville on a full volleyball scholarship.

“I’m very excited for her,” said her mom Pam. “She’s been wanting to do this for many years. This was one of her goals.”

“She likes the small, community feel of the college, plus she didn’t want to go far from home.”

Ficklen will play Right Side at Kingsville, making the transition from Middle.

Her mother continued, “It’s been very difficult because of COVID. It happened during her Junior year, and that’s when recruiting was happening, so we were very nervous. When they called and asked her to come for an unofficial visit, we were all very excited.”
