Sitting for a spell and building relationships was the focus when Texas Rural Leadership Program (TRLP) executive director Ronnie McDonald and past president Lynn White met with citizens from DeWitt County July 6 in Cuero. “Texas Rural Leadership is about bringing individuals together and understanding that everyone has assets and how do you get individuals to understand those assets,” McDonald said.

Texas Rural Leadership Program was founded in 1989 by a rural minister from Luling.

White recalled, “He [minister Bob Greene] showed up in my office and said, “All of those other communities that are larger have leadership programs. We have to have something for rural communities.”
