Nine years after meeting James Cheesman and Zac Condie at Baylor University, Ben Faus is the youth minister at First Baptist Church (FBC) of Cuero. Cuero natives, Cheesman and Condie were a source for information on Cuero and FBC for Faus.
Faus received the call into ministry in 2010, the summer before his junior year at Baylor.
“I was praying for my dad when he was on a mission trip,” Faus recalled. “My mom had asked me to join her in prayer. I had discovered over the course of a few days that God was calling me into ministry.”
After graduating from Baylor, Faus did not immediately take the jump into full-time ministry but instead taught high school math for two years in Oklahoma City through Teach for America.
“Interacting with the kids, that was a real powerful part of the experience,” Faus recalled.
